For me this was the worst car i drove the last 3.5 years and I'm happy that I only did a leasing and not to buy it... else I would need to lie buyers how great this car is...
The First Year was dominated by problems with the Navi (RT3?). I was about 10 times at the dealer until it worked ACCEPTABLE... (still not WELL!) (Thanx a lot to the EV2 FORUM... in the name of the dealer so they knew much fast what they have to do than on internal trainings...
)
In the mean time I often had electrical problems... especially when the car was standing outside (especially in rain conditions or in winter...??).
e.g. I pull the key to leave the car and radio doesn't stop... only way to correct it: pull off battery cables... great if You go to a client nicely dressed with white chemise and black fingers...
Or severaltimes the beeper of the sliding door was hanging and didn't stop screaming... guess what... until pulling of battery cable...
Ah the windows... I almost forgot... sometimes they didn't close, or just closed by clicking thousand times the switch to close it centimeter by centimeter...
Maybe I have a dangerous driving style and my car is alive... or how could You explain to me, that always after starting the engine the "break-down flasher" (Pannenblinker) starts working without doing anything...
And not to forget the great service of lancia... I paid a huge additional bucks (I think price difference compared to the first wanted fully equipped Ulysse was against 3000EUR) to include 2 major differences: The nice alcantara and the 3 years/50'000km service included...!
Great, now in 2007 I was there for an annual service according contract (to have a little service which is due the latest after 1 year) I had 32'000km and guess what... they wanted me to pay the service...
let me calculate... 2.5 years, 32'000km... which of the limits I did reach...??? I must be so stupid in math...
The explanation of the Garage in Town (A-Vertretung...), was that Fiat/Lancia (whoever) did change order: They will only pay for
3 services in this time... so they wanted to "safe" the third one for the more expensive 40'000km service... was nice meant from the garage BUT:
They never ever told or wrote to me that issue before I brought the car... AND despite that I PAID in advance in the price the 3 years/50'000km Service agreement...!
Great Lancia... very customer friendly... this was the last time I bought any Lancia, and never ever will buy an EV2 nor EV3 nor anythink else like this french/italien coproduction...
Just my two cents... I maybe go back to Fiat cars (which are (were?) pure Fiat cars) like my Multipla and the Barchetta were (with which I never had any problems...)
I need more space now anyway for my hobby and the Phedra Leasing is running out this Summer 2008 (let's have a party!) so my next options are:
Ford Transit or Fiato Ducato.... yess simple carriers without these funny playing options like automatic doors etc... and guess what... no Navi...
I'll buy a TomTom so I also could take it to the other car too...
