Before buying our Ulysee I have made detailed comparision,
equally regarding the Alhambra/Galaxy to the EV2, but through
my special requirements:
a. comfortable for 5 people + lot of luggage when traveling LOOONG
b. access roof rails (=extra lugagge box) as simple as possible
c. as little electronics as possible
d. diesel engine
Alhambra/Galaxy
pros: better engine, lower fuel consumption
cons: rear left and right seat can fold back much less than in EV2, uncomfortable for sleeping during night travel.
EV2
pros: sliding doors (gives also much easier access to the roof), more comfortable seats in 2nd (and 3rd) row than found in Alhambra/Galaxy
cons: engine accel. & fuel consumption, seat wear
Since I decided buying a second hand car one of the main requirements was of course the state of the vehicle, mileage. I have read posts here and on other forums and upon those one would never buy an EV2 nor any other car at all . But since my children became teens I needed some extra space in a car suitable for long travelling & camping (From SLO to Spain, Greece, GB, Scandinavia) which can nowadays only be resonably done by night - therefore sleep comfort for teens requirement. No electric doors, it would be a nightmare when camping. Ability to access the roof mounted luggage box or 5 mountainbikes - this is far best on Ulysee, where the rear bumber is designed for stepping on ... and so we ended up with an Ulysee originating from southern Italy.
