Yep, have lived in Nootdorp for many Years, commuting to The Hague (Prins Claus plein). By bike approx 20 mins, in a car... >1 hour...
Then moved to Nijmegen and working in Hoofddorp. If the weather allowed it to go on the bike it would reduce the time to get there by an hour (and back ofcourse...)
I asume it has only gone worse, as this was 10 Years ago...
