Half a year ago my 807 also had some knocking noises when driving over the bumps. Nor visual examination, nor examination with special tools (for unrestrained movement), nor special test equipment (used in technical inspection stations) showed any evident cause. Our local Peugeot garage made bet on a part that is inbetween shock absorber and it's bearing on top. As I understood (but not sure at this moment ), they changed a part, called "rebound stop" and the sound dissapeared
