POL: Do you use the Tiptronic function to go up and down the gears ? Is it easy to do ?
As TJSKD was saying if you let the car deicde when to change gear, your fuel consumption is going to creep up significantly.
I assume that it is a bit of a change from the manual gearbox.
We are expecting our C8 2.2HDI 173ps Auto but sadly no delivery date even if it was ordered mid April here in London.
In the meantime I went to test drive one of the first remapped C8 2.2HDI 173ps Auto SX. The firm is called SPS here is London and the driver (boss of the tuning shop) has a caravan. He got the car 3 weeks ago and has already driven to Spain and back for his Easter holiday!!!
Car will always remain at 110kmh whatever the gradient on the motorway as he mentioned.
He gets 205ps and 455nm of torque after remapping. He drives VERY carefully and only uses the extra power for the torque to pull his caravan.
This is the first tuner I meet who does not burn his engine !!!
He took me for a demo drive and what is REALLY impressive is the speed to go from 50 to 70 miles per hour (90kmh -> 115kmh). The car just takes off.
By the way is it true that it is the same gearbox as the 407, 607, C5, and C6 equipped with the V6 2.7HDI ? He mentions his contact in France told him the 6 speed auto box is the same. it is just the elctronic which is tweaked to accept more or less torque...
Will keep you in the loop when ours arrives and we wish you a lot of pleasure with your 173ps Auto !
