Is anyone satisfied with hie EV2

My Ullysse has its third birthday this month, he is one of the first EV2, and my dealer used it for presentations before . I bought it in spring 2003 expecting to make a good deal and it certainly was a good deal!
I used it for my profession and last year I bought another car for "eating kilometers" because I love my Ulysse and I want to drive it some more years for my private affairs. I used it for 80.000 km until now.
As any other new cars before we had some problems at the start of our common life.
The contacts in the sliding doors, had to be changed, because the electrical windows made a silly job (opening when shutting the car etc.) -> Warranty
Whistling by high speed or stormy weather -> is not solved until now.
They changed the turbo, because it whistled in dependance to the RPMs. -> Warranty

I had to buy new summer wheels at about 60.000 km. -> no Warranty
I hate the roof bars, they are bad construced, but the work anyhow (maximum load 50kg, , the roof may load 100kg)
The sealing of the ventilation to the rear is not seal, even bad constructed.
The dealer constructed something. -> Warranty
Once ther was a bad noise, they changed some screws at the exhaust -> Warranty
In spring we had the problem broken "Schwingarm", mentioned by my dealer!
and payed 50% by Fiat and 50% by warranty insurance.

I had the recall concerning bottom-plate and the ac-water-pipe and my car really was under water. It had to be dried for three days -> I think Fiat payed it.

Now the the RT3 is sent to Fiat (the radio receiver does not work).

After three years many plastic-fittings as co-drivers seat, securtiy-belts, ventilation break off or don't work. It is not nice but can be solved with glue.

You see I had no really big problems until now, but they must increase the quality!

I was a member of this forum before but they cancelled me because of inactivity, I think I was inactive because the mechanics of my dealer satisfied me always.

The best of EV2 is driving this car, I always feel very well!

One problem is, would anyone of you tell a friend to buy EV2? Normally I would, but if I read about your problems ?

Maybe it is cause in the fact that you have one of the first cars.

That's why some of the user here gave back the car.

The quality is better now then in the past. But plastic is plastic.

I won't recommend the EV2 to a friend I want to keep. Besides I love my car with all it's faults.

I only have my Phedra since half a year now, but that without the slightest problem. I think it's really a great car, although some of us have problems with it - but that's not unique to an EV2.
So clear answer for me: I would advise my friends to buy an EV2!!!

After 8 months, 17,000 km I'm very satisfied.

I had also some little things, but did not even bother going to the dealer yet.

I don't think that the quality is bad, compared to other, even Japanese makes. VW Caravelle has an amazing build quality, but it is a car intended for proffessional use and does not feel so delicate for private use.

I wish myself a fault list like yours, when I'm at 80000.

What I don't like so much is the human engineering of EV2, and there's very much to improve!

After my first 8.000 km without any problem, I must say that I love my Ulysse (buying it was a matter of taste rather than a rational choice) but certainly for the same price there are cars that under the point of view of material and building quality they are much better.

(Ahem... something is just got broken...)

Average fuel consumption: too much!

I would say that the "value per space" is good for the EV2 - surely there are cars with better materials and better building quality for that price, but in my opinion not in that vehicle segment!

I love my EV2 with all strengths and weaknesses.
I have no large problems til 31000km.

Uwe_rossi's friends do not know which them is missing!

mspider81 is right : "I think it's really a great car, although some of us have problems with it - but that's not unique to an EV2."

@bombus: I think the same!

The question:"Would anyone of you tell a friend to buy EV2?"
Definitely YES!

After 23 months (40.000km) and short before second service I am very satisfied with the car. I had to visit the garage only twice: first service and recall (engine protection/AC-pipe). It seems that the quality improved after first year of production, which is also typical for other producers. So I would recommend this car also to my best friends.

best regards

My answer: Yes, I would!!

Even in a case of an accident!

100 % if the friend will lease the car for 2 or 3 years.

75 % if usage is as family car.

You pay a lot in the risk to get high prices on repairs. To much for some families driving a car 6 - 10 years. I don't want to see the quality of plastic after this time!

Yes, I like the car very much.

I have it now for about 5 months and except for a few minor things it's OK.
I like to drive it and most of the time I look forward to a long weekend when we are going to use it for a trip.
This week I will visit the dealer for the first 10000 km check. I will have a towbar installed and they will also look to a problem with my headlights that suddenly popped up a few weeks ago. ( I mentioned this is an earlier thread ).

Best Regards,
Guido.

Can you describe this in a bit more details? I think I am suffering the same and I want to convince my dealer to do an exchange too.

Although I got one of the first cars, I'm very content with my C8 for 33 months. The few problems (e.g. with the automatic sliding doors) were solved by the garage. Now everythings works and I like driving my EV2.

Greetings ....
