So either I had luck (in case that they changed in production, mine is from 02.2005) or luck (in case that they assemble it by mood nowadays)! They really must have cost pressure if they try to save money on those parts... -or maybe it's to reduce battery load to protect the weak batteries that they install???

No, you're all wrong.

The black cover is for black light. Its automatically switched on during summer. Or in Austria at high lit snow areas. So you don't need sunglasses inside the car.

We need no sunglasses, also outside the car, because of the snow level is so high - we can not see the sun...

Dont know if RHD and LHD cars are different. The light is fitted to the left hand side looking at the rear of the car from behind.

Has anyone ever found some wiring behind the black cover? If it's there, it should be very easy to install a second lamp. I don't want to dismantle the panels, just to find out that nothing is there..

You can remove the air grilles below the lamps/blind. There is much copper, e.g. for the backlights etc.

But I think you have to put a cable from the existing lamp to the other side because you'll have to use the switch funktion. If you find a cable with every time plus current, you can use a lamp with a manual switch on it.

Hi everybody,

also having just one light in the back on the left side of my C8 I asked the dealer if this can be true. Background: In the equipment list of December 2005 - when I got my car - there is mentioned "2 trunk lights" for TENDANCE type.
While installing a tow-bar the dealer checked the availability of a cable on the right side but did not succeed. Final statement: changes can be done by CITROEN without any announcement and this is mentioned on the cover page of the equipment list.
How shall I deal with this statement? How far can a car dealer go to drop parts of a car that are mentioned in an equipment list where the prices are based on?
I would appreciate a friendly hint how to react in this situation.

Both lights are off

Since it is the same subject, i do not want to open a new thread.
This evening I noticed two lights in the trunk of my Phedra (1/2005). They were both off. I checked the bulbs and they looked fine in the darkness. Will check tomorrow again. I just want to ask if there is maybe some special switch for the lights in the trunk or do I have to check the user manual??

Thanks for the info.

Regards, Klemen
