@Dirks: I always thought that EV2 HDI is EU3 and only due to german tax law EU2 because of max load of more than 2.500 kg ????

And AFAIK the old PSA 2,2 HDI (the old 2,0 HDI too ??) never has met EU4 and the EV2's are the last with that old 2,2 HDI engine intra-PSA .

The ADAC EcoTest (http://www.adac.de/images/22930_tcm8-117022.pdf) is quite interesting, and documents that the 807 is so-so, while the C4 and the 307 (even the quite large 307 SW) with the new motors are only beaten by hybrid and gas-driven cars in the "unteren Mittelklasse"!

Also interesting: The 407 scores extremely good (it's in the overall top 10!), and note how the 406, which seems to have "our" 2.2 engine, scores in comparision!

The 407 seems to have the powerful new 2.0 litre rumored for the EV2 this spring. Maybe one could get a reasonable guesstimate of the emissions and diesel consumption of the new EV2s by comparing the 407 numbers with the 406 numbers and the 807 numbers. Based on that, I think we can look forward to a really clean car with at least 10% reduction in diesel consumption.

If consumtion reduction is your target then you can try this "ECO tuning" from SKN: http://www.skn-tuning.de/portal/alia...opDefault.aspx (only available in German).

They claim up to 20% reduction...... ...someone needs to test that for our 2.0 and 2.2 HDi engines

Its irritating: as the decision was made at the beginning of this year I thought about buying a "green" car with DPF/FAP and now not even one year later my 807 2,2 HDI FAP is a "top polluter" or "environmental sinner" (what in german is called a "dreckschleuder" How to say in English ???) !! But you're right: improvements are in sight looking at new PSA HDI engines with EU4, FAP and low milage. And you can see that its possible for VAN's too: new sharan with 2,0 TDI 140 hp DPF/FAP with EU4, very low milage and acceptable exhaust/pollution datas!!!

Yes, it's somewhat depressing, but our car is still quite clean compared to most diesels just a couple of years old.

And I have really high hopes for the next-gen motors. Just look at the decent values for the 607 with the 2.7 V6 diesel

...and btw I think it's a bit unfair that these rankings and standards don't count emissions per seat

(I'm not just kidding: When we travel 5-6 people long distance in our 807s, the CO2 emission per person per 100 kilometer corresponds to maybe less than 1.5 ltrs of diesel - whereas trains consume about 3.5 ltrs.)

Hi to everybody involved in this thread. I am taking this post to give you some general information about the Euro 3 and Euro 4 compliances which might give you some answers to all of your questions. As I am new to the forum I do not know whether these informations have been mentioned in other threads so please excuse me when I am writing something known...

I do not know when and if there will be new engines in EV2 but it is for sure that with 1st January of 2007 all passenger vehicles with a gross vehicle weight above 2500 kg tons have to be Euro 4 compliant. So there will be Euro 4 compliant engines available until end of this year anyway, otherwise there would be no Diesel engine available at all.

The reason for all Diesel variants of EV2 of having a gross vehicle weight of 2505 kg is only because of the emission regulation which requires since 1st of January 2006 an Euro 4 compliance for all passenger vehicles with a gross vehicle weight up to 2500 kg. So it was easier to increase the GVW a little bit than changing the engines or finetuning the engines.

Euro 3 compliant vehicles with GVW above 2500 kg can be built until end of this year. Not until end of September of this year as PKII posted.

For registration in 2007 of Euro 3 vehicles wich have been built until end of this year there must be an end of series derogation available from each manufacturer.

Finally we have an explanation for the weight. In former threads, many members were considering having the weight reduced....

Car: 807 Norwest 2.2 HDI

Seen this mornig on the french peugeot website www.peugeot.fr in a advertising for the HDI days :

2,0L HDi 16V 110CH BVM : OK, nothing new
2,0L HDi 16V FAP 130CH : what's that? the 2.2 130? the 2.0 136? something new?

2,0L HDi 16V FAP BVA 136CH : another new one?

And if you take a look at the CO2 emission, thay are the same as the 2.2 HDI BVM and 2.0 109 BVA. Sounds like a typo...

But nothing about these versions in the configurator... What a mess the peugeot website... I hope people in charge of embeded computers are better than those who maintain the website! Or it could explain why so many users have problems lol.

And despite of that, I'm thinking to buy a 807.

BVM = boîte Ã* vitesses manuelle = manual transmission
BVA = boîte Ã* vitesses automatique = automatic transmission

Good that I didn't spend the money for the FAP engine. Despite the technical problems, you are really screwed now.....

But I personally still feel better driving a car with FAP than without ! Are all the regulations for getting or not getting the button yet fixed?
