How did I fix the RT3 control dial button

My RT3 control dial button had broke already 3 times!

On the first time it was when while sitting on the driver's seat I took the baby seat from the front passenger's seat to the back of the car and it hit the button.

Several months later, one of my family members had accidently kicked it with his foot when moving from the back of the car to the front seat.

The 3rd time was when a heavy book, laid on the dashboard, fell directly onto the button.

There's no doubt that this button is badly designed and it is located on a place "just asking to be hit", but it does not necessarily needs to be replaced every time it breaks.

On the first time it happened I had tried to repair it and surprisingly it had succeeded.
The next times it broke were such that even a new button would breake, but I knew what to do.

On the 3rd time I made photos of the process and the result are in the attached file, which I hope to be helpfull!

Wow, great solution. I wouldn't even think of that, but why not!?

Hi Bombus,

great job. You should send it to all garages for EV2, I think, it would help them very much.

On the other hand, why do you attack the controller with heavy weappons?

Best regards

Excellent repair manual. I'll put it into Tips & Tricks. However, I doubt that other members will face that problem, since outside Israel it's much more peaceful without blind destruction ambitions...
