HI. I do have the camera working, its wired through the aux socket in the glove box. Good clear picture, but as soon as the car moves it turns off and the radio comes on. Its this speed limiter I need to find and adjust.

There is an option in PPS/Examiner menu for automatic rear camera activation.
It can be seen on pages 36 and 41 of the "telematik" document |

I'm also keen on this information. If I had it (or better: time to figure it out), I would happily share it, trust me.

:) the info has been on this forum for a while, hehe i guess everyone looked over it.
on peugeotdata it has been for a while too, but since in a lot of countries theirs strick regulation about video while driving (except in holland) its been a lil hidden. but for own risk here the direct link: http://peugeotdata.407forum.nl/data/rt3moduk.htm here some video's; one of the last experiment where the aux has been split up into regular aux and one with automaticly switching rear-view camera. http://peugeotdata.407forum.nl/data/rt3videomod.htm nexted project will be the RT4 screen :) thats no more a philips screen but a hitachi, and i can't find any technical sheets about it, second the video aux is on the RT4 and not like rt3 on the screen it self. axl |

Hi. As I said earlier the reversing camera is wired up and working OK, I don't need to do anything else, apart from finding a step by step account of were in the cars computer I'll find this speed limiter that turns off the camera when the car moves.

the ONLY way to get it to work in a cheap way is to modify the screen like RT3USER mentioned and my tutorial at peugeotdata. (costs a bit of wire and about 1 hour of your time)
the other way is to get a dietz interface (200euro) but then you cant use navigation and DVD options at the same time. the BSI of the car doesnt have to do anything with the speedlimit. the limit is set in the software of the screen it self. so onless you are able to get the diamux software program with a compatible OBD interface (600euro) theirs NO other way by software to get the speedblock off. (or you write you own CAN diagnostic software ;) ) axl |

completed and working
Quote:
Finally I have installed the camera and completed the modifications to the TFT display module as posted above....and it worked first time !!! After trying the cheapo crap from Hong Kong that is on ebay I bought this one http://www.iviewcameras.co.uk/IV_FUH...stemsdeals.htm as it offers excellent resolution, colour if there is enough light or monochrome if there isn't and it is very sensitive in low light. I have fitted it just below the hi-level brake light so it can "see" through the glass that is swept by the rear wiper. I replaced the "switch" with a relay so it switches over automatically when reverse gear is selected, another pair of relay contacts swaps the aux video input from the DVD to the new camera, a third pair of contacts (actually a second relay) connects pin 19 of the TFT screen to earth which scans the display from right to left - so looking at the display is like looking in a mirror. The modifications to the display are quite intricate but I did it in a couple of hours start to finish including getting it out and back again and didn't have any real problems at all. If anyone is contemplating it you do need a VERY VERY small soldering iron and a magnifying lamp to connect the wires onto the TFT, if you've never soldered before (I have been an electronics hobbyist for the past 35+ years) I would not recommend attempting it but if you dare then the results are worthwhile. ! |
