tyre valve

Just had a tyre valve snap on me today, didn't realize what a hassle it would be to get another!!!. Theres a sensor in side the tyre coupled to the valve and the garage can't get one anywhere theyve had to send to Fiat in Italy for one!!!! i'm dreading finding out how much it'll cost me!!

Well finally found out from Fiat it will be £197 thats for the sensor, fitting and reprogramming!!!! wow!!! and they would want £72 for stopping the warning coming up on rt3!!. Anyone got a spare???

MIGHT be worth trying these people - I know yours is Fiat but they are probably the same part....

Good luck - I am worried as I have these sensors as well, I am sure - when he warned me about getting a puncture repaired - my local Peugeot dealer said they were around £40 each which seems more reasonble.

He also warned about letting the air out in one go - as the tyre fitters often do when they clamp the tyre in the machine - as this could also damage the sensor, doesn't apply if you have a flat tyre of course !

Would be interesting to find out if the part is cheaper / the same

All ive done is put a normal valve in and the warnings like "low tyre pressure" and "tyre pressure sensor missing" have stopped coming on so ive just left it as it is.
