Auto Gearbox Fault

Hello everyone
I have a fault with my Auto gearbox but my peugeot garage cant seem to help (no fault codes on the computer).
this is a description does anybody have any ideas ?.
After first starting the engine when cold
Engage any gear for the first time there is a hefty clunking noise from the auto gearbox and the vehicle lurches in the direction of the gear selected.
(If the parking brake is off)
After driving forward for the first time
When the vehicle gets to normal speed for gear change the auto gearbox attempts to change up,
but there is a loss of drive causing the vehicle to slow down,
then with another hefty clunk engages gear almost stalling the engine and nearly stopping all forward momentum.
This can happen up to 3 times in the space of 100 metres and then seems to right itself.
All the above will happen again after the gearbox has cooled down.

Hello, is it a 4speed gearbox or the more recent 6 speed auto gearbox ?
Is it a petrol or diesel engine ?

Most of these boxes can be tweaked electronically. Sadly I do not know of any dealer who knows how to do this... I just read a few threads on the french EV2 forum Peugeot : Informations et forums automobiles and they mentioned it twice. Some dealer seem to have contact with the gearbox manufacturer.

Can't help you more than this...

Hi Londonirish, thanks for your reply
it is 4 speed with 2 litre diesel. the garage has reset the electronics loads of times and downloaded updated software with no effect.
it seems as if when the g/box is cold there is a valve or solenoid sticking and when oil pressure and temprature rise the fault disapears.
I will follow your link and have a read
Cheers

Hi Kdw807,

Depending on the age and mileage of your car, it might be worth trying to change the transmission oil...

Peugeot have agreed to take my car for a week to try and sort it, fingers crossed.
Ron 807 I totally agree with you but it isnt 2 years old although 30,000 miles on the clock. I also mentioned this to the garage but the answer was it is a sealed unit.
Thanks

Go to Peugeot Customer service and stick to it like a rash.
They give a few pushbacks and then when they see you are serious, you hvae their attention.
Keep the pressure on !!!
