Gerd: OK excellent. Thanks for the info.

I have never heard of anyone able to tune a gearbox and especially an automatic one !!!

Wimvon: When you have more details I would be keen to know what your tuner can do.
Do they know how to remap the other aurto boxes as well ? For example do they know how to modify the setting of the Auto box for the V6 2.7HDI ?

Thanks again for the info.

Up to today I'm also not 100 % satisfied with the settings.

But in the last two weeks in Italy I was! Fully loaded in high speed ranges all is ok. I had fun on Italy highways of speed limits on 130 km/h. This is the range of that car. Enozgh power to go beside another car or accelerate on hills (curve- highway from Parma to La Spezia). Just one was faster: Another grey 170 hp Lancia (Someone out of that forum?). Even on the tscany hills (curve by curve) from Massa Marittima to Sienna the car did a very good job. First time I was lucky not have switcg the gearbox! I was 20 min faster as the RT4 calculates for ~80 km). The same on way back on S. Gottardo-Pass. Just fun.

But back for 3 days driving in the big City (Hole Ruhr-district-area) its like a nightmare!

Too many speed changes for that gearbox, which is switching up the gear to early and is too lasy to switch down in the next sudden situation. Maybe we are too nervous here to drive cars (Italy or France (Paris) never was a nightmare for me).

The time the gearbox need to switch down is too long. Seems like ist is wondering that it has to go down just a second after accelerating. Sometimes the gearbox is so confused, that the rpm is still on the last speed you stop to accelerate. Doesn't go down, just waiting for the next kick on gas. A real nightmare!

On my old 2,2 Jtd I had enough power to mange all this situation in th e3 rd gear.No need to switch.

So I would like a possibilty to change the adjsutment of the gearbox more than a chip tuning of the engine (torque/speed is enough for me).

BTW: The avarage consumption at the last ~ 3500 km (on holidays) was 9,7 l/100 km. Just 0,8 l/100 km more as with the old 2,2 Jtd of the year 2003.

So I'm sure now: 170 hp with automatic gearbox is fun, but not th ebest choice for city runners!

Fact for that topic: I'm thinking about remapping. Nice if it would be possible to do that only on the gearbox or both, but without a growing up the torque!

tjskd:

Our car just made it yesterday to the South of France for its first trip !

8.8l per 100kms for 1120kms over the first leg of the journey.

Cruise Control set at 136km/h. No roof box nor box at the back of the car. Roof bars removed and soft touches on the pedal to go from standstill to motorway speed.
I have pushed the speed up using the sequential gearbox instead of the auto (D) selector and am switching at around 1900rpm to the higher gear for the trip to softly treat the car for the first 5000 miles.

Diesel at €1.33 per liter down here instead of £1.35 in London !!!

Auto-box remapping: Keep us in the loop !!!
