Car: Lancia Phedra 170ps automatic gearbox
Engine: 2.2 HDI/JTD Automatic
Country of origin:
Belgium

Smile Lancia Phedra model 2008 with 196 ps

Finally, my car is driving like it suppose to be. After some remapping of the engine management and also remapping of the automatic gearbox. I have a much smoother running engine and automatic gearbox.

Here some figures :

before : 170 ps with 400 nm torque usage 10.6 ltr / 100 km
after : 196 ps with 454 nm torque. usage 8.2 ltr / 100 km

Have a lot of extra power and not anymore those typical engine dips when switch gear in the automatic gearbox.

Right now it's really a dream to drive with my car. A very lucky Phedra driver

Many thanks to the people of DM tuning.

Gerd:
I spoke to Angeltuning here in the UK and they offer a remapping with 495Nm at 1750 rpm but power stays around 195bhp.
They charge £400 for this but I wanted to see if they can accomdate a dyno/rolling road test.

Did you get the power curve information before and after from the rolling road test ?

WOW! I'm still wondering if my 121000km Phedra will take a remap to 160hp. I've heard that you can do that no matter what the milleage of the engine, if the engine is ok, and i've heard otherwise.
Any thoughts?

pmasl: Had it done on the previous EV2 and onm condition that you maintain your car properly, it works very well.
Once again it is not for the boy-racers but for a reasonnable use on motorway or when laden with roofboxes or towing caravans.

I believe a warning sign should be posted when the remap takes place...

By DM Tuning in Belgium they asked € 500,- for this remapping of the engine and the automatic gearbox, specially this last is very important and this is what really makes the difference. They have a dyno/rolling road testbence. But because of my personaly tidy time schedule, this is not been done.

Also i don't own skiboxes and don't tow caravans ( really hates that !!! ) so this won't be a issue either.

But i'm very glad it's been done, the car is riding much more gently now. I think the typical Peugeot engine settings off factory is really a nightmare. Really can't understand Peugeot on this point.

Just be carefull. The automatic gearbox is only for a maximum torque of +/- 450Nm. I think Gerd's remapping is more advisable.

I can't confirm bad factory settings, neither the engine (turbo) nor the gearbox as you reported in other threads. I think everything is OK. But I'm glad to hear that you're happy with your car now.

Gerd, I have read your info.

we will have to do the comparing test after the holidays. When you drive the car normally I had no problems but once your using the kickdown the car's reaction is not normal. The RPM stays then between 3000 and 4000 and that is no use.

Let's try to meet end of August or beginning September, then my car is back from it's holiday in Spain.

wimvon / Gerd:

What is the Auto Box reprogramming ?

I did not know that the auto box settings could also be altered ?!?

I have not seen anything on this AISIN box other that it can safely take 450Nm.

Isn't it the same one used by Ford with the same engine on the Galaxy, S-Max and Mondeo ?

Check out the website of DM tuning for details about the chip tuning

Gerd,

Thanks for this but I must be blind: I could not find the info on the retuning of the automatic gearbox ...
Have you got the link which describes it ?

The technic guy of DM tuning , told me that when doing the upgrade of the chip of the motormanagement he had to change the mapping of the gearbox as well, to fit the different of the engine values. But this is only told by mouth, that's not to find back on the website.

Wimvon had already contact with DMtuning to question out some remapping of the gearbox , but Wimvon got a reply back that they didn't do a remapping of the gearbox. !!!! So i don't know it anymore, i'm just a simply Lancia Phedra driver who became very happy after chiptuning , because of the nice driving after the chiptuning.
