RT2 Peugeot 607 (2001 - before facelifting)

Hi all,

I'm owner of Peugeot 607 2,2 HDi 2001 (just bought it ). I'v got RT2 satnav inside (big coloured screen), and I'm wondering is there any possibilty to upgrade mine RT2 with the new software. I'm pretty sure it's RT2 cause the cd player and cd changer is placed in the car boot. I don't have any software on CD, and to be honest I don't know which exact software is installed now. Even if there is no possibilty to upgrade my RT2, I'd like to change all the navi voices to english ones (now they're italian), and not sure if i can do this without the software cd. Does anyone know where to get software for RT2, how to check existing software and how to upgrade this navi?

I couldn't find lot of info bout this type of satnav

Other question is about A/V connector in glovebox.

I don't have a connector in glovebox, but if I buy one (lets say original, used one), will I be able to connect like it is in 607 originally? Do I have to make any special changes/activation? Any info about the wiring, and where shuold it be connected

Hi Cavallos,

The satnav's fitted in older models 607/406 etc are not the Magnetti Marelli satnav's as currently fitted.
Not sure if they ever referred to it as RT2, but the unit is made by Siemens.
If I'm correct the software to update is on the same cd as the map itself, but it will be hard to find updates for this system.

Maybe a Google search on Peugeot and Siemens might give you some more information about your system, but not on this forum I'm afraid...

Hi Ron!

I'm not sure from which manufacturer my satnav is, cause I didn't took it out :P The satnav software and maps are delivered by NAVTEQ corp. I've got the newest possible maps from them - it's 2008 2nd quarter and they're working fine. But the satnav guiding voices in Italian are pissing me off :) BTW thanks for the reply :) I was trying to find some info about this RT2 satnav in google/emule/torrents, but there is not a lot about it...unfortunately. Does anyone know anything about this satnavs? Thanks in advance...
