Help!! Rear Wipe Wash

I have problem with rear wiper wash. The water does not come out from rear wiper. I have checked the tube and everything else but nothing is loose or any holes present.... One strange thing. When I pull stalk for front windscreen wash, it works very well with water come out of wiper but when I want to use rear wipe wash and turn notch to make water come out of rear wipe, it also does the front windscreen as well?? It should not be like that. Can anyone advise me what shall I do next?

This is very strange. Did you check the fuses?
Did you change anything in your car?
Maybe you have some broken cables or a broken switch.

There is a single pump and a valve which directs the water front or back. This valve is not working.

I've just worked on the self-same pump on the wife's Picasso today ... an easy fix (in our case, the front wasn't working, but the rear was ..)

Not sure where it's located on the EV2 yet (I'm sure I'll find out very soon), but on the Picasso, it's :

remove the relevant front wheel (driver's side UK/IRL)
remove the arch inner-liner
unplug electrics from pump
unplug pump from washer bottle (expect spillage, it's just a push-fit, shouldn't need much force)
unplug the pipes leading to the washer jets

Now the fun part

Pop off the bit the hoses connected to, this is what has likely failed, again it's a push-fit and disturbingly easy to remove
Now the harder part, separate the black and white parts - be gentle here, there's a little locater-tab you don't want to break !

Inside the unit is a small slider with rubber ends, this is what sets the water in one direction or the other ... it gets stuck with "slime" from the water over time ...
Clean out all the insides
A bit of silicone oil on the slider helps a little

Put it all back together

Also worth checking the various nozzles aren't clogged - a small bit of fine wire can help here

All told, it'll take anywhere between 30 mins and 3 hours depending on how many knuckles you skin and how helpful the kids are being !

Proinnsias,

shamefully, I just paid the man to replace the part. At least I think that what he did. Maybe he just did what you did.

Fair play to ye.

Pump looks not unlike :

Rear hose goes on the white connector, front on the black

The two connectors just pop-out easily enough and between them is the valve that gets stuck.

Worst case, whole pumps are available on ebay for about £10

So, your front washer works, but not the rear ?

The first thing I'd check is if the rear jet is blocked ... can you disconnect the jet itself (or the pipe behind it) and try the washer ... does water come out ?

If so, it's not the pump, but the nozzle that's blocked. Easily fixed with a small (very narrow) length of wire ... just poke through until you clear the blockage (might need to poke from the back depending on what is blocking it !)

If you still don't get water, then look for the pump, and try cleaning that

This is definitely the washer pump valve. Shamefully I didn't have time to fix it myself and my wife took the car to a local London Citroen dealer to fix it. It cost £46 all-in and 30mins to do the job. I wish I'd done it myself!
