Anglo - German EV2 meeting in UK

As already stated in the Next birthday Meeting 2005 ! there's a chance for a EV2 UK meeting during my autumn vacation in the Manifold Valley, Derbyshire (Ashbourne/Ilam/Leek-area).

I'll be there from Oct,1 leaving Oct,15 this year.

Unless somebody local is able to take responsibility for checking locations, I would check upon arrival and find a local pub with a spacious car park to do the carboot- and interiours-inspections.

Suggested date would be Friday the 7th at about 6pm.

So lads and gals, who's interested in sharing righthanddrive experiences with a lefthanddriver? (And maybe a pint or a half?)

Sounds good, especially the pint bit. I can make it on the 7th - hope there's more.....

Its not far from me - 7th is a Friday - depends what I've got going on that weekend, might be able to make it

The only problem is that in October it will be dark early so a weekend date would be better.

P.S. - Watch out for Speed Cameras - there are hundreds in this area!

So what's your advise, my local friend? Saturday/Sunday afternoon? Or maybe find some well lit supermarket carpark?

Thanks very much, I'll be a nice boy. No tickets so far after approx. 20 trips to the UK! (Fingers crossed)

Saturday or Sunday afternoon would be better - I need to check whether I have any Football to go to and what day of the weekend it is.

Are you camping/caravanning or on business?

Also, a pub carpark would be better than a supermarket carpark!

Holiday trip. We could even meet at my cottage in the wilderness of the Manifold valley. Nice opportunity to check our Navtechsystems.

No RT3 for me but I do know the area a bit - we can discuss suitable meeting places nearer the time...

Yes, we will do so . I will start the discussion again soon as I'll be in the area. Gives a s another week for preparation then.

And maybe we can attract and encourage Ron807 to come as well . Redditch shouldn't be too far away?

Working on it

The problem is that my and see a car as a box on 4 wheels that takes you from A to B, nothing more
So I might need to come alone or promise the kids lots of

We could agree on a male meeting, as I don't think my girls will want to come along, as language capabilities are limited. My 5year old lad might want to, but depends on location and agreed time.

We could even send the and 's to Alton Towers whilst we are fiddling around our toys.

Agreed - you need a small fortune to get the family in now.

I can bring my tribe or leave them at home - it's less than an hour away for me.

Pub or cottage with a few tinnys sounds better than a supermarket carpark to me.

Steve.

Yep - is there enough room around your cottage, Mr thegreatheiner, to fit three C8's and an 807 ?

Hello my British friends.

I don't know yet, as I have never been there before. So best is to agree about the location, once I am there. I will be online whilst on Holiday thanks to Vodafone & Co.

In the other Crashing into England on our way to Derbyshire I was reporting about our way into our Holidays.

Staying very rural in a valley of the Peak District, I will only be able to use my laptop with mobile internet-extension on a car park in Ashbourne.

Anyhow I will try to find a place for the proposed Anglo-German meeting, but will not be able to check replies regularly. If I remember correctly, 3 British members were interested and it would be nice meeting you and having a common look at my crashed beauty.

My Family will give me a few hours off next Saturday, October, 8 and we could meet at about 5pm. This will leaves us 2 hours of daylight (compared to yesterday’s conditions).

As parking at my Holiday cottage is mostly mud and soft meadows, I will find an appropriate car park at a pub in the area. This will give us the proposed opportunity of a pint or a half (being aware of the drink driving penalties in your country).

I will check on Thursday evening, if any of you will be able to make it and then make my plans accordingly (if nobody will turn up, I won’t go to that pub either).

Hoping for overwhelming respond to receive some comforting words…..

Update from the Supermarket parking lot: Actually I see, that meeting at Sainsbury's in Ashbourne isn't that bad an idea. Located next to the viallage centre we have an illuminated car park and a few pubs close by. So Saturday Oct,8 is the day, 5pm is the hour and Sainsbury's at Ashbourne, Derbyshire is the location. Who's coming????
