OK the decision has been made: I ordered a P 807 ST Comfort 2.0 HDi 136hp aster grey with roofbars, tow bar, and 7 seats as only options (e-doors standard).

As it is a stock car (but the facelift version), I had to take it as it is and couldn't order the darkened windows on 2nd and 3rd row (but the roller blinds are present on 2nd and 3rd row).

Although I absolutely didn't want to order an EV2 again after the pbl's I had on both of my 2 C8's and the Ulysse I before, the Sharan simply still seems to have too much pbl's, the Galaxy honestly is too expensive for me as Peugeot 1) offered the most for my current C8 and 2) actuallly gives good prices (almost as good as Citroën always has done).

So let's hope with this 4th MPV of PSA I'll not have engine-related pbl's anymore before the first 120.000km, no clutch pbl's as the first 2.0 HDi 120/136hp versions had, and no FAP-related pbl's neither..... (as this will be my first car with FAP, and I already heard stories about it....).

During next week the car will be in the garage, so only still another 10 days to go with my current C8.

I regret leaving my current Cit. garage, but let's see what 'll happen at Peugeot - anyway this Peugeot garage is much closer to home (not 1km away) which is comfortable anyway.

I'll keep the forum updated about my experiences.

Regards,

Peter

Thanks Bor for your encouragement - of course I'm happy with the decision !!

Now in the future I'll really be able to compare the Cit. and Peug. after sales service.

I 'm curious how the 136hp engine will behave compared to my current 110hp one.

Best regards
Peter

Peter1: Congratulations ! We have just done the opposite: Move from a Peugeot 807 to a Citroen C8 !
Electronic problems when we got the 807 in 2003 for about two years, plenty of time spent at the local "stealer" but well worth it in the end with all the comfortable driving around Europe with the big family at the back...
Looking forward a few more drives with the C8 without the bench... We are now on a 7 seater instead of an 8 seater. Let's see what the difference will be for everyday's use...

Good luck !

Thanks londonirish.

So you have the 170hp version . Happy?

In fact I was looking just for the 120hp version (never driving in mountain areas, never towing a caravan) but it wasn't in stock in combination with the color & roof bars I wanted (didn't want to pay double for the roof bars as accessoiry...).
So I took the 136hp version, which here in Belgium is't more expensive compared to the 120hp version in terms of taxes, as the 170hp (163hp in Belgium) is.

I thought about an 8 seater version, too (with 4 boys the day comes that at least one of them will have a girl friend ), but again - nothing in stock - and I always take a car which is in stock, don't like waiting for weeks and weeks.....

Peter1:

170hp is still being driven carefully ! At least by me...
My beloved one is taking the kids to school and she has to be ontime !
Engine torque arrives much earlier than what we had with the previous 2.2HDI 136hp.

Enjoy !

I think the previous 2.2HDi had "only" 128hp, not 136hp .
My sister had a 2003 P807 2.2HDi before she owned the same C8 (2005) as we still do (coming week exchange for the new P807) - I once drove that P807 2.2HDi and found even that engine having already obviously more torque compared to the 2.0HDi 110hp - what "rocket" the 170hp version must be.... - but I'm a very quit driver so till now my 3x 2.0HDi 110hp (Ulysse I and 2x C8) have done the job very well
(concerning power, not concerning long-term reliability.....).

I can imagine however, living in Germany, France, (Switzerland, Austria, ...) or the UK, where distances are much longer or where you drive more often in hills/mountain areas, some more power/torque can be useful.

Enjoy ! thanks!
The only thing what is scaring me a little, is that to my sister's and my experience, at least here in Belgium, the Citroën after sales service is (much) better as the Peugeot's.
Citroën seems to be much more flexible in questions "warranty or not" - but for the moment a Peugeot dealer gave me a significant higher trade-in price for our current C8 (dealer dependent: a difference of even 5.000€ between two Peugeot dealers here in the neighbourhood of Ghent.....).

Car: Lancia Phedra 2.2 jtd (170 hp) Platino
Engine: 2.2 HDI/JTD Automatic
Country of origin:
Germany

The old 2,2 hdi had 128 hp.

This was exvhanged by a 2,0 136 hp.

Now the nwe 2,2 hdi has 170 hp.

Some differences in europe:

In belgium this engine is only with 163 hp (by the tax-rules).

In Uk it seems, that the same engine will come with 173 hp.

I've my doubts that the will build in different engines or different specs. 10 hp will be an allowed deviation of total 170 hp (smaller than 10 %).

True - engines are the same but probably just a little difference in engine-mapping (software).

When the actual 2.0HDi had 140hp instead of 136 or 138hp, here in Belgium it would be significantly more expensive in taxes.

That's also the reason that the 2.0TDi VAG engine, normally having 140hp, has 136hp in Belgium.

Stupid, but true....

Peter1:
OK I see, anyway, I am interested in torque not so much raw power.
0 to 60 mph is 10 secs or so is not my benchmark.

Motorway uphill climb with the family in the car and roof box on top is much more relevant to my usage...
