New used Phedra

Hello! I bought my Phedra (2.2 JTD Emblema with blue alcantara interiors and dark grey exterior) in early december, and before i got it, i searched extensively thru this great forum and managed to get a few important heads up.
The list of things to fix were a bit long, and i got the car with a few issues to solve, wich will be addressed starting tomorrow (and hopefully for 2 or 3 days). I only made about 2000kms with the car and i'm getting a bad fuel average (about 11.5 ltr per 100km) . I mean i hardly get past 2500 rpm. On my old car i got an average of 8.8 ltr and i really had a HEAVY(er) foot!
Granted i used to drive another diesel car with 155hp and had to really take it down a notch, just because i can't compare driving a 1200Kg/155hp sports car with this 1800Kg/130hp beast. One thing is bothering me besides the fuel average, when i turn off the car, if i happen to go to the trunk i sense a strange smell comming from the exaust, can't quite describe it, and i get no errors in the obc...
All in all, i still think i made agood purchase, lots of room, the wife and kids love it and it's quite comfortable!
Sorry for the speech, again, it's great to be a part of this community!

Hi there,

Were you able to install the cambelt protection?
Where did you do it?

Well, as an update, i'm now regularly making about 9.5l/100km in an urban route.

Barratana: Yes, it was quite easy, took about 5 minutes and i made it in front of an amazed and sceptic lancia dealer staff .
He didn't even know the part existed, and i directed him to this great forum .
If you need any help with it drop me a PM.

Problems and problems

The September 30, 2008 made me a proud owner of a Lancia Phedra 170 hp 2.2 Emblema .
The 09-05 the car was towed without charge on the battery because the electric fan was always runing. After five days the car was runing okay, until the 09-19, when it ran out of battery again this time beyond the electric sensor it was also changed the battery. I wonder if happen again!!!
Also noticed that the display of temperature never surpassed the mark of 1 / 2 (90 c), this usually always in 3 / 8 (80C) I am wondering if this is normal?
Regards
André

I wouldn't worry about that last one, depending on where i'm driving (kind of road, rpm of the engine) the temperature bar goes between 70º and 90º.
What about those 170hp? Does it feel like a sports car?

Olá
Nothing special, just note a reasonable response if the accelerator, nothing compared to a TDI engine, to which i am used just, i miss the kick of the engine, but the PHEDRA is a fantastic car, spacious, soft, QUIET. Apart from the problems I have had the only Burden seems to be the consumption, 8.8/100 km because he was accustomed to 5.5 TDI with a 140 Hp.

Yep, i feel that to, i'm making 9.1 to 9.5 in traffic every day. What was your previous car with the TDI engine?
Personaly i don't like that kick that almost makes your car loose grip for a few miliseconds, when the weight of the car is suddendly transfered from the front to the rear, but that's just me

Thumbs down

My previous car was a 2003 Audi A4, which sold with 230 tkm runing perfectly, but with little room for family, it was good for work but at the weekend

There! You cannot compare the fuel average on a 1400kg sedan (with diferent aerodinamics) with a 1800kg wagon, as aerodinamic as it may be...
It took a while to get used to, i came from a hatchback with a 1.9 150hp engine, so i know what you mean

front parking sensors

front parking sensors:

no there is no kit available from fiat / lancia.
from peugeot there should be one , but look at the front bumpers and compare 807 / Phedra. IMHO there is no good looking space to mount them at the Phedra.

or you might buy a 3rd party kit then. with all the disadvantages.

If you look at the link below for our C8 173hp, you will find that you might also need a switch from Peutroenfiacia on the dashboard toswicth it on/off.
