This car is the second with tiptronic but I never use it. It is very easy to do, but the automatic does it very well, so there is no reason to do it manually. I have to admit that I nearly never drive in the city. Only very short distances for very short time and I never checked the consumption. I am no caravan dirver but the original torque of 400 Nm should be sufficient. I is through that the gear box is the same used in other PSA cars with the V6 HDi and a torque of 440Nm. I drive a 163hp (=120kW) version because of the silly Belgium tax law. The importer for Luxembourg is the same as for Belgium an they only distribute the 120kW version.

I don't like to use the triptronic, because the autom. do it very well and comfortly.

I don't want to miss the advantage of the automatic gear box.

Another fact: italian Ev2s come with the Pirelli P6 tire fitted.

In former discussions here in this forum we have investigated that this tire will be good for 0,5l - 1.0 l /100 Km consumption as the Michelin one the french cars come with.

Even in winter times with my Michelin winter tires consumption was lower in this range as summertimes with the Pirellis.

But after 2 weeks and 2800 km I really love that car!

Bach to consumption: Ohne Mampf kein Kampf! Means: No fight without meal....

Pol,

OK Thanks for the info: 163ps in Belgium, but probably the same torque at 400Nm correct ?

TJSKD: I am happy with the Michelin Primacy on our present 807 2.2HDI I have seen that all Citroen are delivered with Michelin as standard.

Let's see what the fuel consumption will be...

What about driving down a hill/mountain road? I find the tiptronic/geartronic very usefull in that situation as you can use the engine-braking to keep the speed under control. In auto mode it tends to change to a higher gear and end up using the brakes almost continuously...

Yes the 163 hp version has 400 Nm (in automatic version).
If you drive hill down the automatic changes gear down if you brake more than 2 seconds. Very comfortable.
I never use the tiptronic mode, because the automatic does it's job very well in all circumstance and I am not really a slow driver.
