Read it in todays newspaper:

The new Ford Galaxy titanium with 2,2 tcdi engine and 175 hp will need (average) 6,6 l/100km diesel (with manual gearbox).

Lancia tells a average of 7,2 l/100 km for the manual gearbox and 8,2l/100 km for the automatik.

But in the city automatik 11.0l /100 km and manual gearbox 9,2l /100 km. Thats a differnce of 1,8l/100 km.

For this one like me, never getting this rates in personal driving style (regulary 1-2 l more than written) it is sure that the consumption will not be loewe than 12l/100 km (city).

Combinied with roads and highways it is around 10,3l - 11l/100 km.

So its a real luxury like flying. Thats what they promised.....

Lg,

Lilo: You just wrote 8.5l and you have the C8 2.2HDI 173ps Auto 6speed ?
Correct ?

This is the one we have on order since mid April here in London and still no word from Citroen when it will even be built !!!

Since we already drive with the 2.2HDi 130ps but with manual box, we are at around 8.5l on the Motorway with roofbox (130kmh) and at around 9.9l in town. My wife takes the kids to school everyday and is... quite quick with the EV2 !

I was a bit worried as we can only have the 2.2HDI bi-turbo with 6 Speed Auto here in the UK.
Citroen C8: 6Speed auto only with 173ps motor.
Peugeot 807: 6speed Manual only with 173ps motor.

I tried to order the 807 2.2HDI 173ps Auto Executive but even if it is on the dealer's brochure, the car can not be ordered through the computer system of PSA ! Crazy.
So we settled with a Citroen EV2 instead of a Peugeot.

I REALLY hope it will be more reliable than the 807 we had to "endure" and "experience" in 2003... It was a real nightmare with all the electronic problems we had !

TJSKD: Please tell me you have not been to the dealer yet to complain about a fault...

I will give you some news as soon as I know where our new Ev2 is delivered.

No fault in 3 weeks with nearly 3.000 km! All is fine!

After ~ 200 km I drove it to Vienna and back (1900 km). Without troubles!

@ LiLO: I stressed her. We made 950 km in 8 h50 min real driving time. (Speed up to 205 km/h on the clock for long distances) All without troubles. At this high speed long distance avarage was 10,3 l/100km!

Great car, I love it more and more every day!

Nice to see the small things they changed, like new angels of sun childs in the door, which will prohibit to destroy them in working the doors or the possibility to change numbers in the RT4 if you repeat a call and other small things.

Three minor "problems":

Noise recognation of the phone has troubles to reconoise me at speeds over 120 km/h, but phone quality is better.

On hot days after starting the car one of the fans of aircondition or RT4 (middle of dashboard) is whistling.

The feul consumtion.

Onthe last 49 km after I visit the gasstation it is 12,6l/100 km. First 30 km after filling in 15,7 l/100 km.

It's not a problem to drive high speeds with that car but short ways innner a big city with nervous drivers. Here we don't cruise, we run!

Maybe it's caused in my way to drive!

Thats my first automatic car I could not say, that the regulations of the gears is so good like other here tell us, or the foreman of my garage mentioned to me ("very good harmony of engine and gearbox). I had many situations on low rpm (less 2000) the car doesn't know what to do. Short lacks in changing the gear down to grow upto the speed. Than if cars is accelerated up to only 50 - 60 km/h it switched so early in the higher gear, that it has to switch down again, if traffic goes on.

Maybe its caused in my personal driving style. I'm to nervous or aggressive for that car, or is a fault. Can't believe that anyone is able to drive my car under 1oL/100 km!

Bu on manual gear boxes I never had problems to save feul.

I will ask my colleque or a friend to drive my car to test the consumtion on other driving styles. UNbeliebable that is will need 8,7l/100 km like Lilos.
