I wash my car by hand because of two reasons:

It's cheaper and I can do it at home
Even if I don't wash it in front of the house, I use a manual wash station (still cheaper)

The brushes in the plant destroy the varnish when frequently exposed, I experienced visible small stripes/scratches with my last car

Hi,

I only use wash plant, because I have no time to do it by hand! Or I don't want to spent time in car washing!

And: my tide is too low to clean the roof! (ca. 180 cm) I don't want to use a stage or something like this!

I've no problems with the wash plant. I drive in only all 4 - 8 weeks in Summer and 3-4 weeks in Winter. The rest is done by the rain!

I use the modern one with textil stripes, no brushes!

In the summer if i have time, then by hand at home
In the winter or if i have no time, then in the carwash with textile brushes. I also use carnuba wax on all my cars twice a year and have never had any scratces in my paint.

normally I do wash the car by hand. but using the wax last time was a hard work, because of the big surface. even using the polishmachine.
this is the only point when I want a such a small toycar. hmmm like a mini or a smart.

as I bought the car I found this signs.

Well, I voted "by hand" but I'm using my own HP cleaner (hochdruckreiniger) to remove mud, spray detergent and rinse the car. Do you call this by hand ? (I'm using my hand to take dust off)

I voted by hand, also using a cleaner in a wash station and I think that this is surely the best choice if you find the time for it. The varnish still looks like new and has no scratches so far !

I will probably never again use a car wash at least not as long as the car looks like new, because I once had a very serious damage with my former car and had no chance to prove that this damage has happened at this particular car wash so they didn't pay for it . And yes, I took a lawyer, ordered an expert, went to court, this took me two years of anger but to no avail...

no problems with that equipment at all.
I only have to move the mirrors to the body, but that is no problem becaues the are electric ones.

Best Bernie

Handwash always! I have heard of horror stories of where cars were damaged by the machines or because the car in front had lots of rust on it which then came off into the machine and scratched the paintwork of the car behind!

The only problem is that I can't reach all of the roof to clean it without a set of step-ladders.

My car is nearly 3 month "young". I just washed it 2 times since the keys are ours. And these 2 times I washed it by hand, although I´m "only" 1m78cm "high" . Greetings to tjskd, I used a small step-ladder for the roof !

I hand-cleaned my C8 for the first time yesterday - and used the little step ladder!

...and now I have a question? - when I clean the windscreen of a car, I normally lift the windscreen wipers backwards. On the C8 this is impossible as there is a grill at the top of the bonnet that stops them being pushed back! I am now concerned about how I would change a wiper blade in the future!

no problem. turn the ignition off and after that activated the wipers. the arm will go in an upright position and you can change the blades
