Yeah, true.
It's a negative choice both ways: you have to decide for either EV2 WITHOUT BVA or C4 Picasso MCP WITHOUT sliding doors. I go for the latter. ![]()

Had a long think about this one, but in the end I have to say no mainly due to the crap back-up provided by my dealers. Shame cos it is a good car, the build quality is below average but as a family car it is just great and it helps me forgive all the bits that drop off.

I voted definitifly with a very clear No
and expensive car in repair costs. I've this car 1 year. Started with exhaust system faults(tank cup sensor, temperature and pressure sensors defect), broken cranc disc (don't know it's right word in englisch, in german Kurbelwellenscheibe); defect seat heating ; battery defect after 3 years ; and defect door motor for at least 600€ repair costs (if I had let it repaired in the garage). The sliding roof is not working properly (lost initialisation) . With this car you feel like the car drives with you and not you with the car.I bought this car because my further car was a Peugeot 306 and it works very well. The family wants to have a bigger one for holiday. Even the EV2 is from PSA, but regarding my car a constructional defect. So you fear for driving with it on holliday. In the garage I go with my car (regularly) there is another Ulysse and what I've seen with similar problems. So this year we will take our "Bahncards" with us when driving on holliday. At the moment I'll prever a Previa, but it is very expensive. ![]() So thank you to you to be my psychiatrist. ![]() Greetings Stolte |

My expierences are totally different!
Today (after 4 years EV2) I definetly say: Yes! More: On the way back from holidays ( ~1300 km in 15h30min incl brakes) I was thinking about buying this car after leasing ends end of Oktober. This car is so reliable as my prevoius E1! No main faulties in 4 years, good performence and comfort. Even the tuscany valleys and curved roads. I had only one fault: " Abgasreinigungsanlage defekt" in the second year. I got two new batteries in 4 years and two new front tyres (killed by my driving style). Members here does know: I'm truying to get the flat out everytime I'm on the highway: Driving four hours 180 - 210(!) (hill down) is usual! And what did the car? Running, running, running...... Nothing rattles after 4 years! The equicment is more than up to date. Some new cars like Audi Q7 will not reach it (not in quality, but in quantity). Example: Speech recognation. I'm really satisfied with this car, safed my life at a highway accident 2 years ago. Was rebuilt with no technical problems. Short: I (and my family) really loves that car!!! we will lose tears at its time with us is over! But to hold it after 4 years will be economical nonsens. So I'mlooking forward the facelift and new engines to order a new one by leasing. Be sure: I know the bad possibilty, as I returned my first phedra after 6 month back to the dealer by too many faulties. But I ordered just the same and got a abolute reliable car! And, btw: At the pool in tuscany I was askes to help a man from Berlin, driving a 4 years old BMW 5er with ~80.000 km. His car gots a lot of sensors in living time. Many costs and visits at the garage. Now a brale sensor of the ABS-System declares a fault. The great BMW Garage in Italy wasn't able to repair after 3 times! Ordering new sensors, Brakeengines etc... After 3 times they told him, they had spoken to BMW and they told them, he could drive home. Without ABS and repair it at home. But he does not want to drive that car with shown faulty on the brakes from Cecina (I) to Berlin with his family (wife and 3 kids). He ask for a paper, that it would not be a risk. BMW doen't to write that, so he will take the plane or train. Leave the car in Italy . Time will show, how BMWwill handle this case.... Fact: If you have fun or luck with your car depends on the car you got and maybe you and the mass of tolarance you have... Next car of the man out of Berlin will be a german car, he is sure, caused by better quality.... ![]()

Well I did not choose it in the first place, it is in the company as a fleet car (a colleague is leaving) so I don't have a choice. It would not have been my choice anyway. I would have gone for a Santa Fe 5 seat automatic (if the budget can stretch to that) or automatic X-trail or automatic Freelander or automatic Galaxy or DSG 5 seat Touran. I am not a fan of "removable" rear seats, I prefer "stow-away" seats (in fact I don't really need 7 seats), and I am definitaly a fan of automatic (which my company 807 is not)
.When the car is due for renewal in 2009, if there will be an EV3 done on the basis of the new Galaxy (stow-away 2nd and 3rd rows of seats and 6-speed automatic is available), then I would perhaps consider it. But I am not a fan of the EV2. I am sorry EV2 fans, nothing personal, everyone has his or her own preferences. ![]() |

Yes
Next year my 807 has to go. But I think that the next one will be an EV2 again.
I don't like the galaxy, S-max or VW. he slinding doors (electrical) is fantastic for our kids. Lots of room. (nothing new) Even the Chrysler is not so good, I heard, so I can not find a nice family for 6 people. One negative point: I have the 110 hP HDI. Not enough power, but the 120 and 130 hp models will be better for us.

Yes,
just got my 2nd one. (First one was crashed in an accident in February) I have to say looking at the car that crashed in my back and thinking of 2 of my children sitting in the last row there was no discussion to get the same car again. Tom22 |

The interesting thing here is (and 'tjskd ' proves it) that you will always get good experiences and bad experiences. Like tjskd, my C8 never let me down in 2years , and yet there are also plenty of problem EV2's out there.
But I promise you, if you NEED 7 seats (and you can afford it) - do look at the 7-seat 4x4's as well as the 7-seat MPV's, you might be surprised Also - I think the C4 Grand Picasso WILL kill off the C8... sorry... |

Quote:
you can`t compare the C4 Grand Pisasso with the C8 - thats another categorie. The C4 isn`t a real 7-seater for me - it`s a 5 + 2 seater. And the space at the trunk also isn`t comparable. The C4 is a very nice car (design) but it is a number smaler than the C8 and there are no-sliding-doors at the C4!

That is true. C4 has not so much space as an EV2. Even with my 6th chair in my car, I have still space to put growseries or other syuff in my car. With a C4 (the big one) is smaller. (But looks very good!)

Car: Lancia Phedra 3.0 V6 ExecutiveEngine: 3.0 V6 Petrol Automatic Country of origin: |
Hi all,
I've just added a "Don't know"-er to the poll. The arguments are already given by different people throughout the last two years: 1. I'm very happy with my Lancia Phedra V6, extremely comfortable to drive, beautiful interior, sliding doors are extremely handy (don't tell my wife, she liked them from the beginning and I hate to tell her that she was right ). So, this would mean "yes";2. Many little problems with the car not stopping me from driving but just annoying: false alarms, 2x radio cover broken. And a dealer that is reliable and delivering good service but at the same time extremely reluctant in other occasions. For example, up till today they refused to upgrade my RT3 to the latest version claiming too many problems. And due to the fact that my Lancia is a leasing car, I don't want to take the risk myself although it would be the first thing I would do being the owner of the car. So, here is the "no"; 3. The design of the car (and also technology) is becoming out of date. When I ordered my car, I made the choice between Renault Espace 2.0T Aut. and Lancia Phedra and at the end the Phedra won because of exclusivity, V6-engine, and interior. But it was a difficult choice. And the choice hasn't become easier with competitors like Ford Galaxy, Citroen C4, Renault Espace: modern exteriors and interiors, newer engines and gearboxes, better use of available space, etc. This is the "Maybe" part of the story. So, what needs to happen to make me say "Yes!"? Introduce a new version with a modern exterior design like a C4/Espace/Galaxy, give it a modern V6 engine with the DSG automatic gearbox of VW/Audi, keep the sliding doors, add the modern gadgats like the fold-away seats (but still with good seating quality) and ask the Lancia designers to create the interior again. And of course, don't increase the price ... at the end I'm still Dutch ![]() Ciao, Ron
