Longest journey in a day?

Yesterday I drove my C8 from Manchester to South London in the morning for a family funeral and drove back to Manchester in the evening. A total days journey of 441 miles or 710km. This is the furthest I have driven the C8 in one day. I'm sure you continental holiday makers have been much further...

Previously in a Vectra I have done a number 800km journeys at least partly in France:-

- Disneyland Paris to Quiberon
- Quiberon-Roscoff then Plymouth-Manchester
- Manchester-Dover then Calais-Paris (plus return 2 days later)

We don`t drove 1.200 km in a day ............but in one night .
From Lower Austria to Ostsee without a break but with a refuel and a break for a pee after 1000 km.

Well driving around more than 70.oookm per Year with my cars there are some longer trips. The longest so far with the Cit was only 900km. The longest ever was 1.5ookm from Ruhrgebiet to Barcelona with a BMW Z3, 900km of the distance we drove with open roof (hood?)

Normally, we drive with the Peug every summer to denmark but with one stop in Germany at my parents in law. So, these are 700km ''pieces".
My longest journey in a day was some years ago with my Citroen 2CV from Aalborg to Zurich back to work on Monday morning (approx. 1300km). :-)

No really long trip up to now with my Phedra, the longest I made before was from Ferentillo in Italy (near Terni, north of Rome) back to Essen in one day - 1450 km with my good old avatar Spider! But that was in the before-kids-time...

Nearly, i started in the afternoon and had some meal and fuel stopps, so i arrived the office in Zurich at about noon the other day..
a serial 2CV has a maximum speed of 120-140 km/h (downhill, with downwind ), the non serial 2CV's (with AMI Chassis) have maximum speeds until 160 km/h

In the years 1992 to 1997, we (my wife and I) lived near Piacenza. Three to four times a year we went back to the Netherlands to visit our families, a 1,250 km trip. In the beginning in our white Fiat Uno 75 SX, a small but very nice and luxury car equiped with cruise control, sun roof and audio installation. And in a later stage with our Lancia Dedra 1.9TD. We normally did the trip in four blocks of three hours driving, so with three stops: two 15 minute stops for coffee and one somewhat longer stop for lunch or dinner. So, on average we did it in about 13,5 to 14 hours.

Almost every year from Milan to the very centre of Sicily, 1500 km by myself while wife and kids by air.

Last year we were supposed to go by sea, from Palermo to Genoa but I didn't found the tickets, so we went all together by our C8.

With a 2 year and a 4 year old babies I was pretty scared (those of you who ever went by that route know what i mean), however it worked very well and this year we do it again.
