IMHO thats not a big advantage as you still have to crawl half way back too the sliding doors

I was looking for C4 Picasso, but after I compare with C8 in local Citro dealer, I decided that it will be an C8! But here in Bulgaria was no single one C8 at second hand, and from Citroen dealer told me that I can't take 2.2 HDI there is only 2.0 for BG. After long looking I was almost resigned to 2.0 and then one sunny day I saw it ( MY ULYSSE) standing alone in autohouse's yard, it looks so sad that no-one wants to buy it. I decide to make him happy . So that's the story of most bautiful car in the whole world !

Thank you very much!

Relating to this, I have another question: Do you or anybody know what EHLO or HELO is standing for?

Because of the open floor space between the front seats on the EV2, it's actually quite easy - even for me (195cm/100kgs) - to move from the front seats to the second row.

Both are part of the internet mail protocol.

The mail client program used to say HELO as a first greeting to the mail server, but if it says EHLO instead it just means that it wants to use an extended version of the protocol.

Yepp! Thats my opinion too. In an EV2 you don't need to crawl.

Well, I wanted Subaru Legacy in fact, but our third child totaly changed my plans about car and I needed a car that has:
- place for three child seats
- space for baby carriage, bikes, bags, inlines etc...
- sliding doors

Into competition entered EV2, Voyager, Kia Carnival
Plus for Kia is price, minus only two seats in second row
Plus for Voyager is extra space in version Grand, minus is poor NCAP test and poor possibility to manage the space and seats

And the winner is: EV2, Lancia Phedra. Main reason is good possibility to manage seats, 5 stars from NCAP remote controlled sliding doors and good reference from friend of mine that is owner of P807.

After 11 satisfied years with an EV1 (Peugeot 806) there was no decision to make.
Sharan and Co. are not Van´s for me. They are just huger cars (no sliding doors,
position of the seats, gear-stick and so on). You can compare an EV2 just with
the Multivan from VW or the Viano from Mercedes.

Unhappy Never again EV2 (Lancia Phedra MY 2004)

For me this was the worst car i drove the last 3.5 years and I'm happy that I only did a leasing and not to buy it... else I would need to lie buyers how great this car is...

The First Year was dominated by problems with the Navi (RT3?). I was about 10 times at the dealer until it worked ACCEPTABLE... (still not WELL!) (Thanx a lot to the EV2 FORUM... in the name of the dealer so they knew much fast what they have to do than on internal trainings... )

In the mean time I often had electrical problems... especially when the car was standing outside (especially in rain conditions or in winter...??).
e.g. I pull the key to leave the car and radio doesn't stop... only way to correct it: pull off battery cables... great if You go to a client nicely dressed with white chemise and black fingers...
Or severaltimes the beeper of the sliding door was hanging and didn't stop screaming... guess what... until pulling of battery cable...

Ah the windows... I almost forgot... sometimes they didn't close, or just closed by clicking thousand times the switch to close it centimeter by centimeter...

Maybe I have a dangerous driving style and my car is alive... or how could You explain to me, that always after starting the engine the "break-down flasher" (Pannenblinker) starts working without doing anything...

And not to forget the great service of lancia... I paid a huge additional bucks (I think price difference compared to the first wanted fully equipped Ulysse was against 3000EUR) to include 2 major differences: The nice alcantara and the 3 years/50'000km service included...!
Great, now in 2007 I was there for an annual service according contract (to have a little service which is due the latest after 1 year) I had 32'000km and guess what... they wanted me to pay the service... let me calculate... 2.5 years, 32'000km... which of the limits I did reach...??? I must be so stupid in math...

The explanation of the Garage in Town (A-Vertretung...), was that Fiat/Lancia (whoever) did change order: They will only pay for 3 services in this time... so they wanted to "safe" the third one for the more expensive 40'000km service... was nice meant from the garage BUT:
They never ever told or wrote to me that issue before I brought the car... AND despite that I PAID in advance in the price the 3 years/50'000km Service agreement...!
Great Lancia... very customer friendly... this was the last time I bought any Lancia, and never ever will buy an EV2 nor EV3 nor anythink else like this french/italien coproduction...

Just my two cents... I maybe go back to Fiat cars (which are (were?) pure Fiat cars) like my Multipla and the Barchetta were (with which I never had any problems...)

I need more space now anyway for my hobby and the Phedra Leasing is running out this Summer 2008 (let's have a party!) so my next options are:
Ford Transit or Fiato Ducato.... yess simple carriers without these funny playing options like automatic doors etc... and guess what... no Navi... I'll buy a TomTom so I also could take it to the other car too...

Best regards and a happy New Year to all (happy or unhappy) EV2 drivers in this world.

Good bye
MiCHael

Car: Fiat Ulysse 2.0 JTD/HDi
Country of origin:
Slovenia

Before buying our Ulysee I have made detailed comparision,
equally regarding the Alhambra/Galaxy to the EV2, but through
my special requirements:

a. comfortable for 5 people + lot of luggage when traveling LOOONG
b. access roof rails (=extra lugagge box) as simple as possible
c. as little electronics as possible
d. diesel engine

Alhambra/Galaxy
pros: better engine, lower fuel consumption
cons: rear left and right seat can fold back much less than in EV2, uncomfortable for sleeping during night travel.

EV2
pros: sliding doors (gives also much easier access to the roof), more comfortable seats in 2nd (and 3rd) row than found in Alhambra/Galaxy
cons: engine accel. & fuel consumption, seat wear

Since I decided buying a second hand car one of the main requirements was of course the state of the vehicle, mileage. I have read posts here and on other forums and upon those one would never buy an EV2 nor any other car at all . But since my children became teens I needed some extra space in a car suitable for long travelling & camping (From SLO to Spain, Greece, GB, Scandinavia) which can nowadays only be resonably done by night - therefore sleep comfort for teens requirement. No electric doors, it would be a nightmare when camping. Ability to access the roof mounted luggage box or 5 mountainbikes - this is far best on Ulysee, where the rear bumber is designed for stepping on ... and so we ended up with an Ulysee originating from southern Italy.

Should that be a nwe main concurrent?

Chrysler - Grand Voyager - Home

e-doors, e- rear door , stow and go (e-acted for the third row), sleeve and go (turn around of second row seats with tabel). 6 rear automatic, 163 hp diesel engine, Entertainment with two tfts on the roof (possible to take different programs) for a price compares to phedra pricelist for the 170 hp automatic (~ 45.000 €).

But can't find crashtests on the net....
