EV + Motorbike Poll

Hi fellow EV2 owners.

I am wondering how many of us are motorcyclists. I wonder if the adventure side of the Eurovan means it extends from the adventure of motorcycling as well.

I am a motorcyclist and the adventure side of the Ulysse, for camping and tours with my family drew me to buying this fine vehicle.

I've had bikes ever since I was 18. Sold the last one a few Years ago as I never used it anymore since the kids arrived

Ah, and am no EV driver anymore, am I still allowed to vote?

Hi Ron, Good to see you still post here, even after your move to the XC90.
A fine choice I must say, my wife would have had first dibs on buying one, over and above the Uly, if funds would have allowed.

Mark.

I still think the EV2 is one of the best (read practical) MPV's on the market. If they would have released the 2.2 170bhp diesel sooner, I would probably have gone for that one.
This forum is the best on the net and I still feel part of the as an ex-veteran

As for costs... looking at the figures my 807 depreciated as much over the Years as the XC90 will do. The Volvo does hold it's value very well. Absolutely love the Volvo, except for the 1 time where we had 7 people in the car... The 807 would have had more space....

Thumbs up I have to admit....

...I prefer my bike over my Ulysse (maybe I should just go and buy this Buell Ulysess). I love this car (just got our new Ulysse 2.0 Emotion a few weeks ago), if only for all those great gadgets. (the only gadget in our good old 1996 Ulysse was the radio/MP3 player ) But nothing beats riding a bike!

actually, I ride a yearly 25000 km's on my bike and 5000 in our EV2 (at the most). Do you know what traffic is like in the Netherlands?

I do not find an EV2 to have much with adventure - to me it looks and serves like a family car ... as I do not feel any significant adventure in any motor sport in contrast to other challenges - starting with a a Mbike ride just now ...

As I was 15 years old I got a low-powered moped, in Germany called Mofa.
I drove this "bike" 3 years till I got a car.
Nowadays I say: Motorcycling is too dangerous, too cold/hot, too windy and too expensive for me.
Besides, what would I do with my kids?

And one reason, maybe the most decisive reason is my build.

Imagine, it would be a very funny appearance to see me on Hayabusa for example!

A big harley would be fine for you!
I live close to a hospital, and each year in early spring weekends, when it starts to get warm (not yet this year), we hear the rescue helicopter all day long - start of the morotcycle season...
I prefer cycling with my own feet, although that's also not that secure since I never got used to wear a helmet...

I'm a pragmatic biker, since for my job I must ride a bike to get rid of that impossible daily traffic in my town.
I have and ride everyday a '99 Piaggio Vespa 200, and I think it's the best HUV (Hard Utility Vehicle) in the world.

I'll post a picture.

(Ahem... something is just got broken...)

Average fuel consumption: too much!

Yep, have lived in Nootdorp for many Years, commuting to The Hague (Prins Claus plein). By bike approx 20 mins, in a car... >1 hour...

Then moved to Nijmegen and working in Hoofddorp. If the weather allowed it to go on the bike it would reduce the time to get there by an hour (and back ofcourse...)
I asume it has only gone worse, as this was 10 Years ago...

After a minute ir two of consideration. You are absolutely correct in your analysis.

It was based on adding a touch of humour. Could be a bad move as we motorcyclists get a hard enough time as it is.

Let us remember, each motorcycle we pass on the road, means one les car on the road.
