Unhappy RTX Map Editor Error

Hi,

I have just ordered the 2007/2008 GB & Ireland Navteq CD; (from a German supplier); which works fine in my Peugeot 407 RT3 unit.

I have just dowloaded the RTx MapEditor version 0.4.0.3 and imported the CD but get the following error:-

Quote:
Unknown type 21FD in category CAT_MIN found in the map. Please contact the author with the log file and the map reference to obtain an updated version.
Does anyone know what this error is or how to fix it?

Many thanks

Thanks,

just looked through the error log and it shows:-

No c:\RT3MAP\orig\MAPPE\005\GUIDA_CHAMPERARD.POI file found

although there seems to be other '.POI' files there

It means I've made a mistake while adding the the new Pharmacy POI type in RTxMapditor (same kind of mistake I did for the post office one detected with the german maps).

It will be fixed in the next delivery.

Don't worry about the GUIDA_CHAMPERARD message. It just means there is nog guide champerard in our map.

I've published a new version of RTxMapEditor.

It is available at http://rt3mapeditor.eurovan2.com/RTxMapEditor0404.exe and 2007/2008 UK maps are now correctly loaded.

Hi,

just wanted to say many many thanks for all of your hard work in creating and amending the RTxMapEditor to version 0.4.0.4. I have now loaded the UK Speed and Traffic Cameras from Google Earth into my 2007/2008 maps and have just burnt a CD and loaded it into my RT3 and can see all of my local speed cameras.

Great Work! - Many thanks.

Hello

I want to try out the RTxMapEditor (Version 0.4.0.4). When I try to copy the Map (Germany North 2006/2008, TDO006000) the error "This map is in an old format and cannot be patched by RTxMapEditor. Try with a newer one." appears.

Can it be that this error occurs because I used a Navteq CD from my Alfa Romeo 159? As far as I know the RT3 and the ConnectNav+ are quite simmilar, that's why I wanted to try to add some POI on my own ...

For a easy and quick solution I would like to use a older Version of the RTxMapEditor, to find out if this can read the Map. Buying a new CD might be also an option, but this I would like to postpone till Version 2008/2009 is out for sale, and I am not sure if the RTxMapEditor will read this new CD.

Maybe someone has a link to a "older" Version of the RTxMapEditor or the author of this great software knows that it can't read Alfa CD's ;-)

Many thanks in advance

Juergen

Sorry

My Map is 2006/2007 and not as previously posted 2006/2008.

Can you edit the original post and delete this one?

Thank you

Juergen

Sorry, the maps starting with TDO have never been supported by RTxMapEditor nor RT3MapEditor.

Mh - and I was hoping I could spend some weekends in editing my Maps ;-)

Is the file structure so different? If yes, I guess a support is never been planed. Otherwise - I think I am not the only Alfa Driver who would like to edit his POI.

Anyway, even though I couldn't really test the software - a great idea and well done.

Many thanks

Jürgen

Yes, the structure is quite different of the 2005/2006 CD and it will need a lot of time to adapt RTxMapEditor to it (more than what I've spent to take into account the new 2007/2008 format).

A few month ago another Alfa driver ask me some questions about this format (which is the "old" format used by PSA) but I don't know what he has done.

So I am not alone ... :-)

I might try in our Alfa Forum, even though not much hope, never came across a thread anything even near to it.

But hope dies last ;-)

Thanks again
