No info about map version change after update

Hi,

I've just updated some maps on my RT4 7.11.
It seams to went ok, with "Map database update completed" in the end.
But I still see no change in version description in Guidnance options/ Map database information.
For example:
"East Europe North East ed 1" as prior to upgrade. I would rather expect it to be something like ed 2/3 or 4. This is the only version information about the maps I can read from menu.

I'm not able to say if the contents of the map has changed or not.
I use a set of original Peugeot/NAVTEQ maps named 2007/2008.

It looks to me, that the set of maps consists of different editions.
Does anybody know wheather newer versions on these maps exists?

What's suprises me is that if system detects older or the same version of the maps, it doesn't tell me about it and performs whole update instead.

Please find some info from maps folders, files from CDROMs: CD-VER.NAV

Hi
I have downloaded a couple of versions of the maps (included those referred to by egonmax) in the hope that I can update the maps on my C5 X7 with Navidrive (RT4 - I think).
The car was only registered Dec 2008 but the map software shows the UK version as being 2007/2008 1 Ed.

The downloaded versions show this:-
CID:005
CD_NAME:UNITED_KINGDOM
CD_PROVIDER:NAVTEQ
DATA_MAPPE:24/04/2007
QUARTER:4
YEAR:2006

I have installed this and the upgrade seemed to go through perfectly - did not restart the Navidrive and the installed version is till the same.

So this means the system does not let you revert to an older version of a map, but still let's you perform the update without actually executing it. Well, given that the list of the Europackage I posted above contains overlapping areas with different versions of map data it's probably the easiest way to avoid user error.

Hi Wheelnut,

You wrote, that your car was pretty new - registered DEC 2008, so the easiest way to obtain new maps should be make claim at dealer to upgrade your maps in new car.
They are able to order NAVTEQ upgrade package with 2008-2009 maps dated 21/05/2008.

BTW: There is no need to reboot after performing successful map's upgrade. You will see newer version information in menu at once. I checked it by myself, it works like that.

Regards,

Wheelnut:

Your car is up to date. 2008/09 1st ed. mapset is the most recent available (afaik, see post #17). The map you were using for update is the older 2007/08 version.

Hi hhw
My car is showing the UK map as 2007/2008 1 Ed.

I need to get hold of the 2008/2009 1st Edition. I thought that the one which I downloaded from egonmax's post might have been a later version than the one I had installed.

Anyone got any suggestions where I may get it on the web?

Could you please add the volume name for each map, like TD41020500 for France or TD41030601 for Spain/Portugal

Thanks

Hi,
where can i get a copy from RT3 G2 Navidrive CD v.2008-2009?
The posted RS Links have 2007-2008 in the name. Maybe old?
Can anyone provide also the Software upgrade CD to 8.11D or is this also included in the CD map pack?
Regards,
AHB
